A Timeless Cape Cod House Reimagined for a Growing Family | House Tour | Architecture Tour | RAMSA

Explore our reimagining of a beloved house in Cape Cod, transformed to meet the needs of multiple generations of a growing family while preserving the memories and history it embodies. RAMSA Partner Roger Seifter explains how he and his RAMSA design team expanded the original house as a vernacular-inspired retreat that feels as though it evolved over time. Rather than starting over, RAMSA's design team built upon the existing framework of the house, expanding it in a way that recalls how Cape Cod houses have evolved through successive additions over generations. Drawing from Cape Cod and New England architectural traditions, the design gives each branch of the family its own sense of privacy while bringing everyone together in shared living spaces — all while maintaining a modest scale and timeless character. Interior designer Buzz Kelly complements the architecture with layered, collected furnishings, handcrafted finishes, and subtle Swedish country influences that make the home feel warm, lived-in, and enduring. Thoughtful landscape design further enhances the sense of privacy and connection to nature, creating outdoor rooms framed by native plantings and woodland views. The result is a house that feels both new and familiar: a place where generations can gather, create memories, and always feel at home.
